Early Years Educator Level 3 Apprentice

£14,526.20 - 37 hours per week

Working week: Mon-Thurs 08:30am-16:30pm Friday 08:30am-16:00pm Term Time Only

We are currently looking to recruit a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Apprentice to join our fantastic team at Parkhead Community Primary School.

Role and responsibilities

Supporting Pupils: 
 
Using specialist (curricular/learning) skills/training/experience to support pupils 
Establishing productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations 
Foster inclusion, equality and diversity in learning.  
Supporting pupils consistently whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs 
Encouraging pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities 
Promoting independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance 
Providing feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement 
Supervise and support pupils to ensure safety Support personal development and behaviour needs 
Be a positive role model by promoting school values and policies 
 

Supporting the Teacher: 
 
Working with the teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons/work plans as appropriate 
Support with preparing the classroom and learning resources 
Monitoring and evaluating pupils’ responses to learning activities through observation and planned recording of achievement  
Providing objective and accurate feedback to the teacher on pupil 
Promoting positive values, attitudes and good pupil behaviour dealing with any 
incidents in line with established policy and encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour 
Assist in displaying pupil work and managing materials 
 

Supporting the Curriculum: 
 
Aid pupils in understanding instructions and using ICT 
Help maintain educational resources and equipment 
Lead structured learning activities under teacher guidance, adjusting activities    according to pupils responses and needs. 
Helping pupils to access learning activities through specialist support 
 

Supporting the School: 
 
 Follow all school policies and procedures including safeguarding 
 Promote the school’s ethos and values and participate in relevant training             Supervise pupils during breaks, lunch and join school trips/events
