Digital Support Technician Level 3 Apprentice

Working week: Monday to Friday 9AM-5PM

Working within a vibrant and friendly team, you will be responsible for software installation onto laptops/desktops, preparing USBs with course specific software, component upgrades when required, a wide variety of repair, pre-configuration, engineering, and value add services to the business, ranging from the pre-configuration of PC’s, Printers and Network Devices and other computer peripherals to repairs on the above. Working within this environment offers the opportunity to work on a variety of kit and Operating Systems all within a fast moving, dynamic and expanding operation. You will also be responsible for picking and packing customer orders, arranging delivery of orders via a preferred delivery method, depending on individual requirements, creating and maintaining customer records, managing confidential information, and updating customers on the progress of their order.

Role and responsibilities

  • Preparing USB sticks with course specific software packages. 
  • Emailing students with software links, software keys and activation instructions if necessary. 
  • Upgrading RAM / HDD’s / SSD’s if required. 
  • Rebuilding laptops if required. 
  • Dealing with inbound and outbound calls, as necessary. 
  • QA check of the full build before submitting order to the dispatch team. 
  • Working to department KPI’s 
  • Writing Scripts for silent installation of software where needed 
  • Software build/imaging of customer equipment following predefined scripts. 
  • Picking and packing orders, to ensure they are processed and dispatched quickly and efficiently. 
  • Supporting and Logging and resolving technical issues within the in-house call logging system and subsequent queue management. 
  • Diagnosing and repairing software issues inhouse by remote connection. 
  • Hardware upgrades. 
  • Laptop diagnostics and repairs of both Windows and Mac systems. 
  • Sourcing parts from the most efficient and cost-effective source. 
  • QA check of all repaired equipment before returning to student. Counter check of other technician’s repairs. 
  • Creating and maintaining customer records.
