Working week: 32.5 hour term time only contract; 8:30-3:30 Monday to Friday

Benton Dene Primary School is a large, outstanding ‘National Support School’ which shares an inclusive building with Benton Dene Special School in an innovative and heavily resourced educational setting.

Role and responsibilities

Benton Dene Primary School are seeking to appoint a hardworking, flexible, energetic, reliable and self-motivated Apprentice Caretaker. You will be providing support to the premises team, staff and pupils across both schools.

Your role will be to join the team of premises staff in keeping the school site, clean, well maintained, secure and safe. Over time you will also have some porterage and key holding/ site security responsibilities. You will work under instruction/guidance of the designated member of staff, usually as part of a team: to undertake the security of the premises and its contents (including the operation of fire and burglar alarms and key holder responsibilities). Lighting, heating and cleaning premises including maintenance and operation of plant; porterage and handy person duties and such other duties which may arise from the use of the premises.
