REQUIREMENTS

Apprentices aged 16 to 18 at the start of their training are required to achieve Level 2 Maths and English qualification, or GCSEs C/4 or above to complete their apprenticeship, if they do not already hold suitable equivalent qualifications. For those aged 19+ at the start of their training study can also be funded up to an approved level 2 in English or maths or both, achievement is not mandatory and employers can choose to opt out.
Working within a leadership role in an adult social care setting.
24 months on programme and 3-month window for End Point Assessment.
Completion of the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care
‘Off the job’ training must be provided (418 hours)
Support from an employment mentor with monthly reviews.

Develop and implement systems to ensure regulatory compliance, manage risk, and maintain service quality, including assessments and care plans.
Lead person-centred approaches that promote well-being, active participation, and co-production with staff and individuals who access care.
Champion dignity, inclusion, fairness, and cultural awareness, embedding these values into organisational practices.
Establish clear communication processes that ensure confidentiality, clarity, and accessibility for diverse audiences.
Lead safeguarding and health and safety strategies, embedding a culture of vigilance, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Promote professional development through research, reflective practice, supervision, and leadership that fosters innovation, teamwork, and growth.

End Point Assessment will take place in the final 3 months, dependant on learner progress and will consist of:

1) Professional Discussion underpinned by portfolio of evidence.

2) Observation of Leadership
