School Business Professional Apprenticeship
REQUIREMENTS
- Apprentices aged 16 to 18 at the start of their training are required to achieve Level 2 Maths and English qualification, or GCSEs C/4 or above to complete their apprenticeship, if they do not already hold suitable equivalent qualifications. For those aged 19+ at the start of their training study can also be funded up to an approved level 2 in English or maths or both, achievement is not mandatory and employers can choose to opt out.
- Working in a school office.
- 18 months on programme and 3-month window for End Point Assessment.
- ‘Off the job’ training must be provided (370 hours)
- Support from an employment mentor with monthly reviews.
CONTENT
- Drafting and monitoring the school budget
- Management of the school site for a safe and suitable learning environment
- Generating income opportunities
- Preparing marketing materials
- Managing the school office
- Compliance and implementation of safeguarding and Health and Safety policies
- Learning modules include – Finance, Procurement, Human Resources, Managing Support Services, Governance and Risk, Marketing, Infrastructure and Ethical Standards
ASSESSMENT METHODS
- Taught session at Gateshead Interchange termly. Dates confirmed at start of programme (Sept)
- Written assignments
- Portfolio of evidence.
APPRENTICESHIP ASSESSMENT
- End Point Assessment will take place in the final 3 months, dependant on learner progress. End Point Assessment will consist of:
1) Simulated task
2) Project report and presentation with questions and answers, underpinned by workplace project and portfolio of learning
