REQUIREMENTS

Apprentices aged 16 to 18 at the start of their training are required to achieve a Level 1 Maths and English qualification, with Level 2 attempted (or GCSE Grade C/4 or above) to complete their apprenticeship if they do not already hold suitable equivalent qualifications. For those aged 19+ at the start of their training, study can also be funded up to an approved Level 2 in English or Maths (or both); achievement is not mandatory, and employers may choose to opt out.
Typical duration 16 months on programme.
Completion of all apprenticeship knowledge, skills and behaviours.
'Off the job' training must be provided (370 hours).
Support from an employment mentor with progress reviews every 4 weeks.

CONTENT

Promote physical activity, healthy lifestyles and positive wellbeing within communities.
Plan, deliver and evaluate sport, physical activity and health improvement programmes for individuals and groups.
Build relationships with local organisations, partners and community groups to increase participation and improve health outcomes.
Identify barriers to participation and develop inclusive activities that engage diverse communities.
Support behaviour change by motivating individuals to adopt healthier lifestyles through physical activity and wellbeing initiatives.
Apply safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion principles within community sport and health settings.
Collect and evaluate data to measure the impact of projects, programmes and community interventions.
Develop professional communication, leadership, teamwork and organisational skills to effectively support community engagement and health improvement.
