LEVEL 2

Leisure Team Member Apprenticeship

REQUIREMENTS

  • Apprentices aged 16 to 18 at the start of their training are required to achieve Level 2 Maths and English qualification, or GCSEs C/4 or above to complete their apprenticeship, if they do not already hold suitable equivalent qualifications. For those aged 19+ at the start of their training study can also be funded up to an approved level 2 in English or maths or both, achievement is not mandatory and employers can choose to opt out.
  • Role must include processing of customer data.
  • 18 months on programme and 3-month window for End Point Assessment.
  • ‘Off the job’ training must be provided (396 hours)
  • Support from an employment mentor with 4 weekly reviews.
  • Employers must ensure learners achieve

    A Level 3 Award in Pool Lifeguarding awarded by the RLSS UK or a Level 3 Award in Pool Lifeguards awarded by the STA.

    A Level 2 in Teaching Swimming awarded by SEQ or a Level 2 Swimming Teacher awarded by STA.

    A Level 2 Certificate in Fitness or Gym Instruction awarded by; Focus Awards, Active IQ, Innovate Awarding, NCFE, VCTC or YMCA Awards

    A Level 3 certificate in First Aid (to be taken either as a stand-alone qualification or as a separate part of the Level 3 Award in Pool Lifeguarding by; RLSS UK or STA)

ASSESSMENT METHODS

APPRENTICESHIP ASSESSMENT

  • End Point Assessment will take place in the final 3 months, dependant on learner progress. End Point Assessment will consist of:

    Workplace observation with follow up questions
    Professional Discussion underpinned by portfolio of evidence.
