Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools/Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools

REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 1 Maths and English Functional Skills (not ESOL) or GCSE grade 3/4 or D/E or considerable experience in a school setting.
  • Must have been accepted on placement from a school of their choice. Placement must be for one full day or two half days per week.

ASSESSMENT METHODS

  • Taught session at Gateshead Interchange weekly. Monday morning’s, 9:30-11:30 term time only.
  • Written portfolio work
  • Observations in the workplace.
  • Witness testimonies completed by mentor.
  • Professional discussions.

Costs

  • The costs of these courses will be met by the government if the learner earns less than £25,000. If the learner earns more than this amount the costs are as following: Award £336.00, Certificate £708.50.
